Visual Assessment

The Enterprise Center CDC (TEC-CDC) performs an annual visual assessment of the Walnut Hill Neighborhood. The data collection includes the physical appearance of the housing stock, community facilities, streetscape, commercial areas and green spaces.

The Visual Assessment:

Timeframe: Late September/Early October

Area: Each and every block within the confines of the Walnut Hill Neighborhood (S. 45th Street to S. 52nd Street from Market Street to Spruce Street)

Method: Visual observations recorded on a standardized form completed by the Walnut Hill Street Team

Focus Areas: Residential areas, maintenance, open space, commercial/institutional areas, sidewalks and pedestrian access, street surfaces, lighting, and potential problems.

What will we do with the data?

The data will support TEC-CDC and Walnut Hill Community Association in effectively targeting the needs of the Walnut Hill Community.

Examples: home repair, identifying vacant lots, abandoned homes, etc.
